Have you watched recorded videos for some type of training and thought to yourself, I wish I could save time by speeding this video up?
Or is the person on the video talking so fast you want to slow them down?
Then, watch the video below and learn how you can do that on most videos.
Video: Speed Up Videos and Save Time
Hey there, this is Tracey Hausel from TraceyHausel.com, coming to you from Wilmington, Delaware, about 20 minutes south of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Today I want to talk to you about speeding up your videos.
Would you like more time? Would like videos to take less time? Have you ever watched a video with someone who talks so slow and you knew that it would take half the time if you could just speed up the person?
Well, you can do this. Honestly, this is one of my favorite little productivity hacks/ time management hacks. And all it takes, depending on how you do it, is the video itself, or an extension for Chrome. I don't know of any way to do this through FireFox, Internet Explorer, or Sierra, I just know this works for Chrome.
First, let me show you something on YouTube. Here is Brendan Burchard, he's going to tell us today about four dumb things everyone does, apparently.
What I'm going to show you is down here [the gear], look, do you see where it says settings HD? This is where you can make the annotations on a play quality. This is where you make it HD.
Look, here it says speed. I can make Brendan go faster, all the way up to double, heck I can slow him down if I think he talks too fast. That is absolutely cool, I don't care who you are. That works on all YouTube videos, okay? Now I'm going to close this out, save some room.
Now let's look at, this is a video on a course I'm taking from Michael Hyatt about [inaudible 00:01:46] productivity in focusing.
Here is the same thing. Now, he must have changed video players, or something, because it use to be three lines up on one corner or the other, and you clicked on those to speed up. If you don't see it in the gear just look around.
Now I want to show about this extension. Do you see this here? How this has been showing up on all the videos, YouTube, everything? This is the Chrome extension, and I'll tell you where it find it. If you're in Chrome you go up here to that little three dots on the right-hand side.
You scroll down to more tools. Okay? See that? More tools. Then you go down to extensions and you click on that, a new window will open. Now I've got a lot of extensions. Actually, the one I want is almost at the bottom.
This is called the Video Speed Controller. All you have to do to find it is click on get more extensions and then search for it.
Let's see, helps if I spell right. Video, what's it called, Speed. I don't remember what it was called. I'm going to cheat and go back and find it. I'm showing you this, I mean obviously there's other ones, this doesn't cost you anything, but I know this one works, and it works everywhere. Video Speed Controller.
I'm sure someone recommended it to me, and it might not show up because I already have it too. Yeah, it's not showing up. Yeah, it's not going to show because I already have it. It's just the one you want, okay? Video Speed Controller, that's the one you want. It really does show up on almost every single video.
If you're a member of MLSP, I'm sorry, it doesn't show up on those videos. I have absolutely no idea why. If you find a way to speed up those videos, let me know.
Also, there is something you can buy, honestly, I don't like it as much as this little free extension thing. It's Enounce's My Speed, and for most of the videos, when I pull up the “show my speed slider”, it says, “No video playing,” when there's obviously a video playing. I mean there's not now, but on other videos, it doesn't show anything. To me, it's like a wasted $30-$40, whatever it is.
That's it for today. I hope you found this extremely helpful. Leave a comment wherever you see this video to let me know if you found it helpful.
Have a great day, but don't forget to always go to my blog, TraceyHausel.com. On the right-hand side get your and best email to be on my newsletter.
I do have a checklist of everything you should be doing every day in your business. It's set for two hours, but you can change it. It's at TraceyHausel.com/DMO.
